Not that I don't have some free time to write but it is because I am lazy. Yes.. that is true, I am lazy. Recently I went up to Penang for some appointment and for some reason I brought along my camera. But I only managed to take two (2) pictures. That is another prove that I am lazy.
The first picture that I took is the view of the city of George Town, Penang from Penang bridge. I managed to take picture as the traffic jam was so bad on the bridge and I did not know what else to do. May be that is the reason why the Penang government is talking about building the second Penang bridge. When I was in Penang ten (10) year ago the traffic jam on the Penang bridge was not as bad compared to now.
Mr. Goh Chok Tong, Singapore Senior Minister in his last visit to Moscow, Russia commented that the massive traffic jam in the city of Moscow is a good sign that the economy has been very good. So does it mean the traffic jam on the Penang bridge is an indicator that the economy in Penang has escalated to a much greater height in recent years?
May be that is an indication that many people are moving out of Penang to another area?
Anyway the picture here does looks good. You can see Komtar the tallest building in George Town, Penang in the background.
The second picture that I took is a picture of logging truck traveling on the North-South Highway (PLUS Highway). I took this picture in between Taiping and Ipoh.
I wonder from which forest reserve they took the logs from. I was informed that there is no more logging area available in Perak but why there are still so many logging trucks ferrying logs traveling using the PLUS Highway in Perak?
The question is whether or not those logging trucks are permitted to use the highway. If you look at those trucks used to ferry the logs you will probably agree with me that those trucks are not suitable to be on the highway. And look at how they secure those logs on the trailer? They does not looks properly secured, aren't they? The chain may snap at any moment, logs will falls on the road, possibility of road accident to happen is very real.
And those logging trucks are cruising at high speed in between 80-100km/h. I wonder where those traffic police or Jabatan Pengangkutan Jalanraya are. May be they are having a good teh tarik or something at the coffee shop.
Huhu..so at least I wrote something today. I will write again when I come across with something interesting.

I came to love this special Yogurt drink by the name BLISS since 2 weeks ago. I believe this yogurt drink has been around for quite sometimes but I decided to buy it last two weeks ago to give it a try.
But why they named it as BLISS? I asked my uncle by the name Mr. Wikipedia and he told me that BLISS can be a state of profound spiritual satisfaction, happiness or joy, often associated with religious ideas of the afterlife.
Afterlife?.. you got to be kidding. This drink is indeed gives me tremendous satisfaction but I am not so sure about joy and happiness after drinking it. It did make me feel good somehow.
And at my first sip, I fell in love with this so called BLISS Yogurt Drink from Nestle.
It is available in variety of flavours, but I love the one Tropical & Mixed Fruits. And they said it is Low Fat drink, written on the bottle.
Give it a try and let me know your opinion about this Bliss yogurt drink.
Not that I forgot this blog. I haven't updated this blog in the past one month or so. You may call me lazy dude or anything and I promise not to get angry with you. After all that is the damn real fact, that I am indeed lazy.
There will be a moment when you really can't think of any idea to write in the blog. I believe that many bloggers experienced this problem. If your blog is not your bread and butter, I will not blame you for not spending reasonable amount of time and efforts to keep your blog updated. So that was the reason why I did not managed to update my blog in the past one month or so. I really have no idea what to write.
I asked my friend what to do when you really do not have any idea or topic to write about. His advice to me was I should read a newspaper and make a comment regarding to some interesting current issue in the blog. It can be about any issues that you are interested talk about.
You can also visit other people's blog to find some idea about what to write in the blog. The problem is I do not really have the luxury of time to visit other people's blog.
If you are someone who are lazy like me, you can also hire a writer. Well I can help you to write about something if I get paid for it. Hahaha. If you have too much money, this option is the best for you.
One very easy way is "copy and paste". You may go to some websites about some topics that relevant to the theme of your blog and do the copy and paste thing. It should be acceptable as long as you give a proper acknowledgment to the respective website or the writer by putting the link to that respective website or by mentioning the name of the writer of the article. Copy and paste is not a very good method to update your blog but it is very handy and useful when you really have no idea what to post in your blog.
Ok.. I think let stop here. I want to continue to watch my favorite animation The Dragon Ball Z on youtube.com. I know many of you love to watch this movie too.
I was told that PAS wins Kuala Terengganu by-election. I've checked in the internet in Malaysia Today website and it is true that PAS wins.
I am happy for PAS, PKR and DAP. In the last many days they have been going around in Kuala Terengganu to convince the people to support PAS and reject Barisan Nasional (BN). In Malaysia BN is considered like a God. They can do anything they like although the Rakyat disapprove it. They forgot that their master is us the Rakyat in Malaysia. Government exist because there is Rakyat. No Rakyat means no government. The Rakyat pay their salary. It seems the master (Rakyat) has shown its true power.
I hope after this BN will do some post-mortem to find out as to why the Rakyat is punishing them. I heard most BN leaders are arrogant. I don't know about it as I never have any liking to associate myself with politician.
So what about N4 Matunggung. We the Rakyat especially Rungus in N4 Matunggung have been voting for BN in so many election already. Our daily life in N4 Matunggung seems all about BN. We had many BN YBs already. Until now I am yet to see any significant result for Rungus people. Promise after promise in the election after election. Nothing have been achieved so far.
Well there are some. Our paddy field is replaced by Acacia Tree, hills are being turned into palm oil plantation (it seems good but I failed to remember if I ever eat Palm fruit as my daily meal, rice that we are eating now is all imported from Thailand and Vietnam), our youngsters all migrated to the city and now they cannot speak single word of Rungus Language anymore only old folks remain in the village. There are many more. I am not a YB so I do not know if the above are good for Rungus people. Please enlighten me about it.
So next election BN candidate will going around in our N4 Matunggung again, giving RM 50.00 to people to buy their vote. I am not sure if Rungus people are so cheap that can be bought over by merely RM 50.00. Nothing wrong with taking that RM 50.00 and tong gas for cooking but your vote is only known to yourself unless if you are crazy enough to tell everyone whom you have voted. Next time take the money and go happy hour or something but vote wisely.
I am not mad. Al least not yet. I am just sad for my fellow Rungus. Talk with our YB? Hell no. He or she is busy doing some shoe-polishing. It will be good if they polish our (rakyat) shoes but I do not think so. It must be someone shoes they are trying so hard to polish at the moment.
I am not educated. I am sure there is some educated Rungus out there. I heard there is lawyers, lecturers, doctors, engineer etc. Can we get these people and we call it "Center of Excellence" where our Kampung folks can refer to for some information? Or at least this group can meet and discuss to come out with some program to develop our Rungus people? I am sure I am not deaf yet. I can hear the sounds of my keyboard as I type this post but so far I have not heard any efforts to assemble those educated Rungus to really sit down and talk about how to develop our Rungus.
You probably will say " well it is no use. They can sit down and talk about Rungus until cow comes home" but after that nothing will be done. I agree with you. That is the problem when we depend too much on the government about anything. We the Rungus people must move forward with our own strength and efforts.
I am not mad. At least not yet. I can foresee the future. It is about the implementation of contract farming system for Rungus community.
I stumbled upon this paper in www.google.com “The Importance of Implementing a Contract Farming System in Sabah” was written by my good friend and was presented in the conference at University of Otago in 2007. University of Otago is the most prestigious and respected university in New Zealand being the biggest and oldest university in New Zealand located in the South Island in the peaceful city of Dunedin.
I visited University of Otago 7 years ago when I was on the way to Queenstown. University of Otago a.k.a city of Dunedin.
Let move on. I am not going to talk in detail about "the university nor about the city of Dunedin. What I am going to tell you is that if contract farming system is to be introduced to Rungus community, it will fail miserably. That is what I believe.
Contract farming is like what FELDA or FELCRA is doing at the moment. Giving capital, technical know-how and promises to buy back the produce. On the paper it is beautiful. Much more beautiful than Angeline Jolie or Aiswarya Rai. The implementation is another matter.
The system probably good for palm oil plantation or rubber plantation. But it is not yet 100% proven successful with other agriculture projects. Successful in one or two farms cannot be taken as the basis to conclude that the system is good.
Many big farms in New Zealand and Australia in not based on contract farming. Those farmers are very successful. Most of them have private helicopter.
Contract farming system needs a big area otherwise the project will not be so viable or profitable. You will have to sign an agreement with some big company of which most of the terms will not be so helpful and fair to the farmers.
After the agreement is signed you will not be so free to change your mind about how to run your farm. You will need to buy the seeds or seedlings from the company and sell the produce to them at the specified price as in the agreement.
There was a case where the company made profit selling seeds and seedlings to farmer then after their stock run out they simply vanished from the face of this earth. Where and how to find them?
There was also some cases where, when the farm is ready for harvesting the company disappear or refuse to buy your harvest. So you will be eating your harvest 24 hours, 7 days a week. Sometime the company will buy back but they push down the price with some allegation will be leveled to you such as they will accuse you about using other variety of seeds or seedlings or you failed to follow instructions and advices from them.
Sometimes the system is so succesfull and the market is overly supplied. The supply is too much so the price will be happily go down. If this happen you will have to suffer huge losses.
I remember 25 years ago the government told the people that corn have a good market with attractive price. So everybody quickly planted corn and before we know the market is flooded with corns. The price went down and that was a time I eat corn like I eat rice. I guess planning is important. We should be able to process them into another products to ensure the price does not go down to dramatically. The government failed to do that, the farmer also fail to do the same due to lacking in capital and technology.
Now most of our Rungus youngsters have migrated and live in the city. Only those people who are 45 years old and above remain in the village. Who will be the work force to ensure the contract farming can be implemented successfully. I know you will be talking about hiring foreign workers. Our villages in Kampung will be flooded with foreigners and before you know they are kicking you out from your own village. There are many visible signs about this.
Putting it in the paper and present it to people in New Zealand (University of Otago) who does not know the real situation is easy but implementation will be entirely another matter. You can produce countless more paper like this but think before you write them.
I had a cup of coffee with someone several days ago. He was a Rungus and because he was a Rungus, I tried very hard to speak in Rungus language with him. No matter how hard I tried he will reply to me in Bahasa Melayu. I did not know whether he was a person who really cannot speak in Rungus language or not but as a Rungus he should at least try his best to learn the language.
I am sure there are many Rungus especially the younger generation who cannot speak the language and it is indeed truly disappointing. I believe that learning Bahasa Melayu and several other languages such as English is important but abandoning behind your own language, RUNGUS Language is very ugly, absurd and very disapointing.
Ok..then if you are so good in Bahasa Melayu or in some other language just prove it. I found it is difficult to believe that many of Rungus out there cannot speak and write well in Bahasa Melayu. I sense something is not right here. You choose not to learn your own language but you cannot master Bahasa Melayu or other language.
This thing will be getting very difficult to reverse very soon. Soon enough Rungus language will disapear from this earth. Who to blame? First you should blame non other but yourself. Secondly you should blame your parent and lastly the Rungus people. It is very sad to see this beautiful and precious language, the Rungus language will soon become a history.
So if you are Rungus please learn the language, if you are not a Rungus but you have a friends who are Rungus please tell your friends to learn the language.
The Japanese people are one of the most beautiful people in the world. They speak, write and do whatever in Japanese Language. Yet they are one of the most civilised people in the world. The west respects Japanese.
Language is not what people will use to respect you. It is what you do and your attitude that's count.
Mr. Obama the next president of the United State (US) of America will assume his post as the US President at a very wrong time. He comes in when the world financial market is in its worst situation.
It means he will have to as work twice as hard to prove that he is capable and also indirectly telling the people of US that a black can be a good and capable to be the president for America. In the future skin color will no longer can be use as trump-card for any political party in the US.
What are we going to do during this very hard time? Employment opportunities now is very hard to come by. Several years ago we can see the classified section in the newspaper was full with real job advertisement. Now only those MLM or sales job are there and you know what it means. Salesmen are paid based on commission if they ever manage to sell anything.
Most governments around the world are telling its people to save and not to spend much money in anticipating for the worst scenario. It means you are encouraged to save the money and let the money stays in the bank. The bank has more money so that they are not going bankrupt. The people will have to tighten their belt.
The other reason why you are told not to spend much is to make sure you have some money left just in case you are fired from your current job and become jobless for months. It seems there are pretty good reasons as to why the people should not spend money at the moment.
However not spending money has its downside as well. The economy is vibrant when the velocity of money is at top speed. The economy is good when the money is circulating the market, moving from one hand to another hand at top speed. Not spending money will slowdown the economy.
Restaurant owner will gets less costumers, the supermarket will finds that their sales volume is drastically reduced or in other words all business will get less or no costumers. Less costumers means less sales revenue and profit.
So all the businesses is losing and some of them will have to close-down while some are downsizing thus reducing the number of staffs. It means more people will get thrown into the street jobless. Unemployment rates will sky-rocket very soon along side with crime. We should anticipate that the judges in the courts will get their hands full very soon and the prison will gets cramped with sudden increase of inmate.
It is time for us to spend money. The only way for the economy to remain competitive is by spending money as usual. If we never stop spending money, we still eat out in the restaurant, buying clothes, go on holiday, visiting supermarket as usual it means many businesses still be able to make money and some profit.
If the businesses can run as usual it means they are able to at least maintain their existing staffs or possibly hired instead of firing more workers. Everyone got some job and money so the economy will not gets stagnant.
Help the economy by continue spending as usual with much care. It is time to spend money.
